Nigeria Will Earn $300m From ICT Yearly – iSON

Chief marketing officer of iSON BPO, Opemipo Alebiosu, speaking during a facility tour of its Abeokuta, Ogun State call centre last week by the media which is wholly dedicated to MTN Nigeria subscribers, said Nigeria’s large population in Africa, its huge pool of educated youth stood the country in vantage position to lead outsourcing in Africa.
“We believe in Nigeria, outsourcing is the way to go for Nigeria being the most populated country in Africa. Nigeria has viable pool of educated youths which shows that the potentials are high. Nigeria is a viable destination for BPO. The way we run our skills centre, we are tending towards having an academy where other companies can come and get training,” she said.
The dominant outsourcing company in Nigeria for mobile operators such as MTN and Airtel has embarked on another intensive recruitment drive to engage more Nigerian youth in its new ultra modern call centres and skill development facilities in Oyo, Ogun and Kwara States, thus increasing its staff strength pan-Nigeria to over 4,000.
Head of operation, Abeokuta Centre, Mr Shobhit Saxena, said the high- tech call centres would serve the growing clientele that iSON has in Nigeria, with the twin benefits of upskilling talents in the best and contemporary methods available in customer service delivery globally, through its skills development centres.
“It is noteworthy that while many organisations are downsizing in Nigeria, iSON BPO is actively engaged in upskilling and creating additional capacity thereby boosting the economy in many ways,” he said. #
